THE PROCESS
The process will begin with the channel inviting all music companies
to submit entries for Punjabi albums released between January
1, 2007 to December 31, 2007. All entries would be accompanied
by 10 Audio CDs as well as music videos [where applicable] on
DVD/CD format. These entries will then be screened for eligilibity
& category placement by experts. The experts will review
the entries & determine whether or not the artists meet
specific qualifications & have been placed in appropriate
fields such as Punjabi Pop, Folk, and Religious etc.
The list prepared thus shall be sent to an elite panel of judges
comprising of more than 100 prominent personalities from the
Punjabi Music Industry to prepare the final list of NOMINEES.
The Nominees would be publicised through ETC CHANNEL PUNJABI,
ZEE PUNJABI & the press. The viewers then will be asked
to cast their votes on a form made available through newspapers,
website. Those with mobiles can send in their entries through
SMS.
This panel of judges will also be asked to cast their votes
& will nominate one veteran from the Punjabi Music Industry
to be honoured with LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
The total votes collected in this process will be given equal
weightage between the judges & the viewers. A final tally
of points will be tabulated by our auditors.
Results of the voting will be revealed during the Live Telecast.
The on-ground ceremony shall feature live performances by prominent
artists.
